Perspective

I often receive emails from readers. Most of them agree with me on my points of view, others see it as I'm slamming Jesus Himself, or just being hateful toward the church. My approach sometimes may come across negatively, but in reality it is my 'calling' to shake you and hopefully wake you from your spiritual slumber.

I think what I am opposed to most is the kinder feminized christianity thats pats people on the head and tells them its all ok, and sends them away fat dumb and happy. The Old Testament prophets didn't do this.. they blazed into town, told everyone to repent or die, then stormed out. In today's church, everyone is ruled by political correctness, (don't offend anyone!) which is a doctrine straight out of hell. My problem is not with sheep who need to grow, and need to learn, it's with the shepherds who are more interested in numbers, building projects and keeping folks happy and giving money so the pastor can live a life of luxury at the churches expense (your hard earned tithe dollars which aren't required in the first place) while missionaries live in squalor, eating rodents. I've seen this for myself. If it is considered slamming the church to preach the truth, then I hope to continue slamming the church... and be in the same company as Elijah, Jonah, and others who gave God's message with boldness and power... not caring who it offended. Or our Lord, Jesus Christ, who told the religious leaders of His day they were all full of crap.

By the way - If you consider foul langauge, drinking and smoking a terrible sin, then what about lying, backbiting and greed? This is what goes on among much of church leadership. They may never drink a beer, but run people away from God by their own behavior.

We have to stand up for ourselves. New Christians: don't put your trust in any institution or man because they have a cross on the front door or a fish on their tailgate. Study for yourself the core of our faith, and ignore all the rest. Old Christians: wake up and smell the coffee! Time is too short to be playing churchy games.

Chris
