Puritanical is kinda satanical
We find ourselves in such weird situations in life. And life in the US just isn't what the preachers preached about 20 years ago. They raved about worldwide revival, bigger church attendance, monsterous corporate complexes needing to be built. Bring em in! It's the time of the harvest! The seed of the gospel germinated, cultivated, and now being harvested ripe for the coming of the Lord. Parallel to this we find ourselves in a state of moral decline, war, higher crime rates, less freedom than ever, gay tv shows and plenty of family oriented porno during half-time events of the super bowl (oh, did I have to mention that?)
So what gives? If we're in such a revival, more christ-likeness should be present in the world don't you think? More giving and less taking, more self-less-ness and not selfishness. And today there's more and more broadcasted attacks and contempt for the things related to God and Jesus Christ than ever. So, where is it? Perhaps this is the time Jesus said the love of many would 'wax cold' in the end-times. We're at the junction of another time episode about to begin. And I'm not so sure it's going to be a good thing to see. If Jesus does appear in the clouds before the s*** hits the fan, I'm all for it - but the reality of the gospel message is 'he who endures to the end shall be saved'. Not 'he who jumps ship mid-journey to escape a little persecution'. If there's so many Christians out there from the worldwide revivals of the 70's 80's and 90's.. please, stand up and take charge of things again. At least stand up for yourself and be counted.. it might someday mean a bullet for proclaiming the truth, but hey... it's going to be glorious on the other side, right? So what are you scared of?
Chris
