Infantile Stupidity

I went out to lunch with my mother yesterday (being mother's day afterall) and we were enjoying time together. It's not often we get the opportunity to just sit and b.s. about current events, family stuff, etc. A large group sat beside our booth in a large table arrangement. They were just coming from church, and also celebrating mother's day, so it was a dual purpose lunch for them. One of the ladies at the table piped up and said in a loud voice 'a guy came to church today in shorts and a t-shirt!.. not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just he's not as sanctified in his walk with the Lord yet.' I prayed for a huge flock of flying pigs to swoop over her, taking a nasty crap on her enchilidas. But the prayer went unanswered so I piped up in my usual style 'HEY.. I GUESS THAT MEANS EVERYONE WHO WEARS A SUIT TO CHURCH IS SANCTIFIED IN THE EYES OF THE LORD...' I grow more and more weary of the stupidity being preached from pulpits (especially in the south). Churchians have their eyes on the prize of new church buildings, bigger attendance, fatter wallets, and shallow relationships and phoney fellowship. And the weak minded eat it up as gospel... Grow up!
