Fruit of the Spirit
Fruit of the Spirit
You will always hear messages in church or on tv talking about the 'fruit of the spirit', implying that by living a spiritual life, or being spirit filled will produce characteristics of holiness - love, joy, peace, patience, longsuffering, etc.etc. Let's rethink that fruit idea for a minute.
In the beginning, in the garden of Eden, Eve was tempted by satan to eat the "fruit" of the tree of knowledge and by doing so would become aware of all things, both good an evil. We were told to stay away from the tree of knowledge, and not eat it's fruit. What was hidden within that tree? or it's fruit that would be so disasterous to its consumer? It says that whoever ate of it would surely die. And with some amazing accuracy, we've been dying ever since.
But maybe there's more to the story of the fruit of the tree, when you read from of the gnostic gospel texts, specifically the 'Gospel of Truth', It says this:
"For this reason 'error' (satan) grew angry at him (Jesus) , persecuted him, was distressed at him, and was brought to naught. He was nailed to a tree and became the 'fruit' of the knowledge of the Father, it did not however cause destruction because it was eaten, but to those who ate it gave cause to become glad in the discovery, and he discovered them in himself, and they discovered him in themselves. (became aware of each other).
The sacred place within the garden in which the tree grew that held the 'fruit' of the knowledge of good and evil, was that same tree that held the body of our savior who became the 'fruit' of the knowledge of God. A divine plan in action from the beginning to it's fulfillment.
"It is finished".
There's so much more I could write in regard to this, but i'll let you stew on it yourself for a while and let the real revelation come to those of you who are awake.
